Duos, trios, quartets etc. for weddings, dinners, conferences etc.

CAPRICCIO QUARTET has been performing music for weddings, receptions, conferences and dinners since 1985, as well as occasionally giving concerts.

They have performed in a wide range of venues, both in Edinburgh (e.g. The Royal Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh Castle, Signet Library, The Assembly Rooms, Old College Library and various hotels) and also as far afield as Gleneagles, Turnberry, St. Andrews, Aviemore, Stirling Castle and Liverpool.

Their repertoire is very flexible, ranging from Scott Joplin and popular music of the 1930's and 40's to music by such classical composers as Bach, Mozart and Vivaldi.

CAPRICCIO FLUTE QUARTET (flute, violin, viola and cello) is an alternative ensemble to the string quartet. They play mostly baroque and classical music.

CAPRICCIO BAROQUE consists of two violins, cello and harpsichord. They play music by well-known composers such as Bach, Handel and Vivaldi, and also 18th century Scottish composers. They also perform as a trio (2 violins & cello; OR flute, violin & cello; OR 2 violins and harpsichord; OR flute, violin & harpsichord) or as a six-piece group with the addition of flute and viola.

CAPRICCIETTO PIANO TRIO has a similar repertoire to that of CAPRICCIO QUARTET. They require a venue with a good piano.

CAPRICCIETTO STRING TRIO consists of two violins and cello and plays mainly baroque music by Vivaldi, Bach, Handel and 18th century Scottish composers.

CAPRICCIOSO - Violin and piano duo - a wide range of music similar to that of Capriccio Quartet.

CAPRICCIOSO - Violin and harpsichord duo - playing mainly baroque music

CAPRICCIOSO - Violin and guitar duo - classical and modern music (also mandolin)

GLADSTONE'S BAG specialises in the performance of music from the Victorian era, either as background music or for Victorian style tea-dances. The group consists of flute, clarinet, violin and piano, with the addition of double-bass for dancing. They can also provide a singer. They play waltzes, quadrilles, polkas, galops etc. interspersed with excerpts from operas and operettas and music hall tunes from the middle of the 19th century.

COOL CAPRICE - violin, piano and jazz bass - music from the 1920's, 30's and 40's with a hint of jazz

CELTIC CAPRICE - Trio playing fiddle, mandolin, accordion, guitar, cello, keyboard etc. - Scottish music for background entertainment.

THE PERSONNEL of the ensembles is flexible, but the performers are all professional or semi-professional musicians. Many have worked with top Scottish orchestras, RSNO, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, and other British orchestras such as the CBSO, Halle, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, and also period instrument orchestras such as Scottish Baroque Players, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
